CLIF: Protect the Places We Play
When the Trump administration planned to ‘review’ millions of acres of publicly protected land in a thinly veiled attempt to transform public parks into private-sector profits. We made a statement.
Public Land Should Stay in Public Hands
Early in the Trump Presidency, Secretary of the Interior, Ryan Zinke, planned to ‘review’ millions of acres of publicly protected land in a thinly veiled attempt to transform public parks into private-sector profits. We did not agree.
A Digital Protest
We dedicated our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels to real comments posted by real citizens on the Secretary of the Interior’s site and gave them prime real estate on CLIF’s social pages.
Turning Comments Into Content
Each post not only thanked and celebrated people who were standing up for public land, but also further broadcasted the need for all adventure loving Americans to make their voice heard.
Swipe Up to Speak Out
CLIF’s daily Instagram Story featured a different national monument in danger with a simple CTA to ‘swipe up,’ taking people directly to the DOI’s comment field, allowing our followers to join us in protest.
